For sure you already know that the Xbox 360 is one of the most popular video game consoles that were ever released. In terms of performance, the Xbox 360 shines above the competition. From the unbelievable gaming experience it provides, to the impressive graphics, this game system can astonish even the most demanding players.
But, while the Xbox 360 for certain is brilliant, there are some common problems associated with it.
If you understand the problems that are commonly experienced by Xbox 360 players, you can realize what you are dealing with if something goes wrong, and even more important, determine how and if the issue can be fixed. Some of the hardware problems that may occur with the Xbox 360 include the well-known red light error, and DVD drive issue.Normally, there are 3 standard types of light problems that you may encounter with your Xbox 360.
If a green light is displayed, you can be sure system is functioning properly. If the red light is on, then you’ll know your Xbox 360 is encountering a problem.
1 red light error is an E74 error; if there is two red lights error it shows that the unit has overheated and if there are 3 red lights it means general hardware failure. The problems that are experienced with the Xbox 360 are displayed as red lights on the power button when you are starting your console. If one red light is displayed, than you’ll probably see an error message on the screen. This 1 red light problem indicates an E74 problem, and that indicates that the scaler chip of Xbox is burned out.
The scaler chip is what is giving the Xbox 360 its quality graphics. If you are having this error, you need to call the support center for your Xbox 360 to report it. Chances are that you can send them your unit to be fixed.
If you have 2 red lights displayed, then this indicates that your unit has overheated. You can resolve this problem by shutting off your game console, and let it cool off for a couple of minutes But, you will want to try to avoid overheating in the future, as this could finally lead to hardware failure or even worse to popular red ring of death, also famous as the 3 red lights error.
If your console is overheating, you should be cleaning it to remove the dust from the unit. Also, be certain to use console unit out in the open area with adequate ventilation.
If you suffer the 3 red light error, this indicates a serious issue with your Xbox 360. This error shows you that your Xbox 360 has had an overall hardware problem, and you will need to send it to Microsoft for repair.
You might get 4 red lights on. This is probablly nothing to be concerned with, because it might just mean that the wire isn’t properly attached. Check the connector and you’ll probably solve the issue.
If you get the problem of DVD drive error, or if the Xbox 360 is incapable to read the DVD that is as well caused by overheating. If you get this issue, you will need to send the Xbox to Microsoft to be fixed.
