The Smart Cycle has won numerous awards for its innovation. It was even named the most innovative toy of the year in 2007 by the Toy Industry Association. The game teaches children problem solving and reasoning. In addition, it helps children learn letters, numbers, shapes and spelling.

The Smart Cycle runs on 4 D batteries and is connected to the television. As the child pedals through the different games they must complete tasks that are designed to be educational. If the child gets tired of pedaling they can utilize a joystick to play certain games.

The system includes the Learning Adventure game. Other games are sold separately. The Learning adventure contains such activities as Letter Creek, Number Fields, Math Mountain, and Shape Lake. Children can ride through these adventures or can simply choose to race through the game with cars.
