If your thinking it might be fun to have a carnival in the backyard of your home, church, school, or neighbors house, then you’d be right. There’s been a trend lately having your very own carnival for the kids, or the adults that behave like kids. Generally hiring Barnum Bros & Ringling Circus is a little over most peoples budgets, so the next best thing, is to run your own carnival. It’s not really that hard, you can get most of the supplies you need fairly inexpensively, and rent the bigger items from a local carnival rental company, or online from a number of different websites.
There’s all kinds of fun stuff you can get for your carnival. Those big bouncy rooms in the shape of a castle are lots of fun for the kids. There are plenty of different types you can get, from the before mentioned castles, to animal shaped inflatable rooms, to hot air ballons, and even dragon shaped rooms. They usually cost about $100 to rent for a day or two. Some are even good for indoor purposes.
Apart from the usual games, dunk tanks, and prizes, getting a carnival performer or two can be a big hit. Sure, you could settle for the usual face painters, clowns and balloon artists, but there are other talented performers you could hire as well. Mimes, palm readers, jugglers, and henna artists are just a few of the more exotic types you could get that would make a memorable event for all your visitors.
