Fun BMX Games

Hey, now that BMX is an Olympic sport, I guess there’s no real need to question it’s relevancy when discussing the topic of real sports? Well, I’m not so sure about that. Becoming an Olympic sport these days, is as much about selling tickets as it is about how “real” a sport it is. And, there is not doubt that BMX biking has a huge following. It’s definitely popular with the younger generation, and could really be considered one of the eXtreme sports that are a growing concern as of late. Something I find interesting, is that anytime you cruise by a skateboard park, it’s not unusual to find as many BMX’ers as there are skateboarders. And, they seem to get along quite well. Taking turns and all running the ramps, rails and pipes.
I suppose, BMX and skateboarding do share a common bond, or vibe. Part of the younger (but aging) generation. While skateboarders are definitely the elder statesman of the skateboarding venues, I do seem a number of BMX riders that look old enough to be in an office filling out reports, and falling asleep in meetings like the rest of us. What there does seem to be a shortage of, is good BMX games for the PC, Wii, PS3, Xbox, and assorted handheld gaming devices. I went looking for one for my nephews Nintendo DS a few months ago, and only found one, that had lukewarm reviews at best. We ended up buying him a snowboard instead. Not much of a stretch I suppose.
