crazy_bonesGogos Crazy Bones are coming to a school near you soon – if they haven’t already! If you have no idea what they are, Gogos are a popular collecting, trading and competing mini-figures craze. Being a cheap toy that children can buy with pocket money, their popularity is on the rise – fast. The mini figures are small, colourful plastic characters that you will soon find underfoot in your house. Gogos Crazy Bones Series 4 was released in late 2009 and there are many accompanying accessories to keep you spending.

As well as collecting and trading these cheeky little figures, they can be used in a variety of mini games. With just under a hundred in each series, your child will want to collect more and more. They each have a unique name and design and for series 1-3 you get three in a packet, with three accompanying stickers, for about £1. You do not know which designs you will find inside the packet, hence the need for trading or swapping with school friends. The most recent packets however, called Power, only include two Gogos and come with trading cards rather than stickers. Two or three Bones is not enough though; you probably need at least 10 to be able to play a decent number of mini games. These games include such things as catching the figures after you have thrown them in the air and rolling them to knock down others. For only £1 they are a neat little idea and will give your children hours of fun.

The first three series of Gogos were called original, Evolution and Explorer. There is not much difference between each series other than the characters in each one have very slight design differences. Power, for example, includes metallic figures. A starter pack available for the Power series is a good way to start your child off with this phenomena. It comes with two packs of Gogos, a game guide and an album. Another good way to buy these characters is in multi pack sets. You can buy boxes of 10’s, 20’s or 30’s, which are great if you want a cheap, popular toy to fill birthday loot bags with.

If your child already has a collection or is likely to in the near future, you will know how easily these characters can get lost. Storage is a must with Gogos and the brand offers you two options – small bags that come with one pack of Bones and hold about 30 or metal tins that come with 10 Bones and hold a lot more. Other items you can buy include Gogos Crazy Bones games, books and bedding.
