Classic Game Room reviews the NINTENDO Wii video game console! The Wii could be Nintendo’s best console since the original NES Nintendo Entertainment System. The Wii is a revolutionary gaming system and this Wii review shows what makes the Wii special vs. the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Is the Wii for you, would you rather play Wii fit or shoot things with massive laser cannons in HDTV graphics? The Wii may not be hi-def but it is hi-tech (owwww, that sucked!) and has a really unique controller …

  9. FrostedProductions on April 7th, 2009 12:08 pm

Well atleast you can get active and lose weight and get your fat ass off the couch.

What do u mean by “you went wrong with the wii”? I don’t own a Wii.

  11. callmeLilSparky on April 7th, 2009 12:08 pm

Wow aren’t you smart maybe just maybe not every one wants to be totally hard core into games maybe they look at it as enjoyment and not something that HAS to be played you went wrong with the wii.

Yes B.S. if you can hook it up to a hd tv it can be shown on in hd.

  13. artemisk on April 7th, 2009 12:08 pm

NOT B.S. I never said you can’t hook it up to an hd tv. I said the Wii is not in HD, meaning it is in SD as in the signals that it broadcasts. 720 and 480 are mentioned resolutions. The guy above me said the Wii is in HD meaning it broadcasts in 720+ lines and it does not. Wii is not HD. Even if you hook it up to an HDTV it will not upscale the broadcast to HD it will stay SD.

They had mature games, true. However, they were still marketed to appeal to children and parents.

The Wii, though, does have a few more mature games in it’s library. No More Heroes, Resident Evil, Dead Rising: Chop ‘Til You Drop, Quantum of Solace, and Madworld immediately come to mind.

  15. Dragonball4eva on April 7th, 2009 12:08 pm

All of those that u named had pretty mature games which old school Nintendo fans r missing. That’s why the PS3 and the 3shitty get the best games.

  16. Suraht on April 7th, 2009 12:08 pm

Like the old Pong, Atari, Colecovision, Intellivision, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Game Boy(and it’s successors), and even Genesis consoles, you mean? Those were all marketed and treated as family friendly. Mainly because until the Playstation, gaming consoles were pretty much seen as just children’s toys, and were marketed as such.

And Wii marketing as family friendly is actually really smart. The core demographic for Nintendo grew up with the NES, but now has a family of their own.

  17. Dragonball4eva on April 7th, 2009 12:08 pm

No, their on top cause adults r buying it cause it’s family friendly, for their kids, cheap and cause of its controlls. No console other than the Wii has been family friendly.

  21. Dragonball4eva on April 7th, 2009 12:08 pm

Fat ass of couch yeah? I ain’t fat. The only reason I would like to own a Wii is Brawl and that’s it.

  22. callmeLilSparky on April 7th, 2009 12:08 pm

Yes it can you can stop arguing now.

  23. NezraFallon on April 7th, 2009 12:08 pm

    480p =/= HD

You can hook it up to a HDTV, and it still looks good, but it simply does not play in HD.

  24. FrostedProductions on April 7th, 2009 12:08 pm

Actually the NES is the Wii’s Great-Grandfather. N64

  25. NezraFallon on April 7th, 2009 12:08 pm

“if you can hook it up to a hd tv it can be shown on in hd. ”

If I hooked up a pong console to my 46″ HDTV, it would not display in 1920×1080 resolution.

You should really consider reading some basic information about what HD is.

I have a Wii, and I love it alot, but it quite simply does not play in HD. (Though it looks great on my HDTV anyways)

Every technical guide that lists the wii’s hardware information shows that the max resolution it displays is 480p (For NA) and 576i (For PAL).
