While, I’m not the biggest fan of fishing, I do have a cousin whose quite enthusiastic about it. As a matter of fact, he’s pretty much making a career about it by writing for various magazines, and taking photographs of all sorts of outdoor activities, including fishing. I do have a boat, a sailboat actually, and lots of people I know ask if I fish off it. I always find that strange, since to me sailing and fishing really have nothing much in common. Oh well, go figure. Now fishing games, I could handle. As long as I don’t need to be stabbing worms with a hook, or worse of all, removing a hook from a fishes mouth or gizzards.

My daughters went through a fishing phase when they were younger, and we spent some time up on Georgian Bay at some nice resorts. But, fortunately they’ve grown out of it. It’s a passion for many I know, but I really just don’t get it. It actually seems like a bit of torture . . . for the fish I mean. A little bit for me I suppose, as sitting in a boat and waiting, and waiting, and waiting for a fish dumb enough to bite seems a little odd to me.

Although I do like computer games, so a fishing game doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. I think there’s some you can get with the Nintendo Wii that would be kind of fun, since you can use the remote or nun-chuck like a real fish rod. And nobody gets tortured . . . neither the fish or me ;)
